To provide access to a cluster:
You can follow a similar process to provide access to a datacenter. Granting access to a datacenter provides access to any datastores referenced by hosts within the datacenter. Note that the permission must be applied at the datacenter level and propagated to any child views (such as networking objects), as in the preceding procedure.
The Compliance Checker for PCI is a free, downloadable, fully-functional product for checking compliance of your environment to help you ensure that it remains secure and compliant. VMware Compliance Checker is a robust utility providing detailed compliance checks against the VMware vSphere Hardening Guidelines. Unlike other free tools in the market, Compliance Checker for vSphere is a fully functional product.
Free Compliance Checkers are based on VMware vCenter Configuration Manager and can be used to manage configuration compliance requirements in your environment . Each free checker includes compliance assessment for a single standard and can only assess a small number of hosts or VMs (depending on checker) at the same time. To use any of the available checkers simply download the selected checker to a Windows desktop.
The intuitive web-based interface requires little or no learning curve. Administrators simply point the checker at a target environment (hosts or specific VMs depending on the checker downloaded) and execute a compliance assessment request. The resultant compliance report provides a detailed rule by rule indication of pass or failure. Where compliance problems are found users are directed to a detailed knowledge base for an explanation of the rule violated and advice on remediation.
